Jan Thomas OdegardPartner
Jan Thomas Odegard is a social scientist with 27 years of experience in the development sector with the environment/climate, human rights, private sector/ CSR and civil society. Odegard is Partner of NCG since 2012, conducting appraisals and evaluations, and providing strategic and managerial advice to NGOs. Main assignments (of 20) from 2013-16 were two organisational reviews of international humanitarian organisations, setting up a new foundation, establishing two development programs, and conducting two evaluations/end-reviews of private sector programs.
Before 2012 Odegard was Director for five years of Friends of the Earth Norway, a large Norwegian environmental NGO with 40 staff, NOK 50 mill. budget and partners in 20 developing countries. Until 2007 he worked five years in Rainforest Foundation on programs, policy development, human rights, international climate issues and CSR. From 1999-2001 he was Officer in Charge for the UN in Mozambique, coordinating a national private-sector program. Odegard has four years of academic research experience on international development, environment and private sector. He also has experience as Chairman/board member, program manager, case officer and journalist.
